Iris van Herpen is a Dutch fashion designer who uses new and exciting materials to create architectural and fascinating designs. Paper, glass, plastic and leather are a selection of the materials she uses in her work.

Technology

 Iris van Herpen uses 3D printing to create and develop her fashion pieces. She chooses the materials and draws the design and the 3D printer makes it. Every time she creates a new piece it remains exciting how the piece turns out to be. So in the end the 3D printer creates the dress. It become almost autonomous art.

Effect

Architectural forms and light and airy designs create the feeling that the designs floats around the models. It becomes futuristic and Her designs are one of a kind. Due to difficulty and the fragile pieces in her collection her work is described as Haute Couture.
